The short answer: yes, always. The slightly longer answer explains why most companies buy these tables for the wrong reason \u2013 and why they still make the right decision.<\/p>\n<p>For the benefit of an electrically height-adjustable desk lies not where many assume.<\/p>\n<h3>The Misconception: Standing is better than sitting.<\/h3>\n<p>Again and again, I hear the same argument against height-adjustable desks: employees don't use the standing function anyway. That's true \u2013 at least at first. And yes, anyone who buys an expensive desk and then leaves it at the same height as any other has wasted money.<\/p>\n<p>But that is not an argument against the table. That is an argument against a lack of introduction and training.<\/p>\n<p>The real goal is not to swap rigid sitting for rigid standing. It's about everything in between.<\/p>\n<h3>Different activities require different heights.<\/h3>\n<p>This sounds abstract at first \u2013 but becomes immediately clear once you've experienced it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Looking into a post binder requires a different sitting height than concentrated typing.<\/li>\n<li>Holding a Teams meeting partly standing is more pleasant than sitting rigidly.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone creating graphics with a digital input device needs a different arm position than someone who exclusively types.<\/li>\n<li>Particularly short or tall employees, as well as people who wear safety glasses, benefit hugely \u2013 for the first time, they can adjust a desk height that truly suits their body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The basic idea behind it is really simple: the furniture adapts to the person \u2013 not the other way around. This isn't a gimmick; it's modern and contemporary working.<\/p>\n<h3>Why staff still don't use the tables \u2013 and what can be done about it<\/h3>\n<p>In practice, this is often what happens: the tables are delivered, assembled, explained \u2013 and three months later, they're all at the same height as before. Why? Because people have habits. They managed before without them, after all.<\/p>\n<p>The exceptions are the few colleagues who are tech-savvy anyway and like to experiment \u2013 or those who already have back problems and can finally adopt a more suitable posture. Everyone else needs a nudge.<\/p>\n<p>This impulse is the training. Not the one-off brief introduction during setup, but a real explanation: What height for what purpose? What are the concrete benefits? What happens in the long term if I continue to sit at the wrong height?<\/p>\n<p>When the penny drops \u2013 which I experience regularly in such conversations \u2013 behaviour changes. Nobody wants a slipped disc. But very few people think preventatively, as long as nobody explains the connection.<\/p>\n<h3>Not a luxury \u2013 but a duty in the competition for employees<\/h3>\n<p>Height-adjustable desks are no longer a bonus afforded to executives these days. They are a standard that modern employees expect \u2013 and rightly so.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who wants to attract and retain good people must first get the workplace in order. Salary alone doesn't decide it. The question of whether I feel comfortable at my workplace, whether the office is modern and well-designed, whether my body is well looked after there \u2013 these are factors that are increasingly important.<\/p>\n<p>An office with rigid tables and poor chairs sends a message. And it's rarely one a company wants to send.<\/p>\n<h3>Checklist: Is an adjustable-height desk worth it for my business?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do employees spend several hours a day at their desks? \u2192 Yes: clear argument for height adjustment.<\/li>\n<li>Yes: Standard tables are never a good fit for everyone.<\/li>\n<li>Is training on how to use it offered? \u2192 No: This is the most common reason why tables remain unused.<\/li>\n<li>If employee retention is a concern, then the workplace is an asset and not a cost.<\/li>\n<li>Is the office intended for long-term use? \u2192 Quality pays off. Especially with an adjustable-height desk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How Warth plans usage concepts<\/h3>\n<p>Almost anyone can deliver tables. But you also want to get added value from the delivery. And that's where I come in. It starts with the question of who works at these tables, how, and with what activities. This in turn determines which models make sense \u2013 and how the implementation should look.<\/p>\n<p>Training is part and parcel of it for me. Not as an extra, but as part of the service.
